POSITION MISSION

In the context of the design and development of Diagnostic Systems for railway applications, MERMEC is looking for candidates for the position of SYSTEM ENGINEER

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

The work consists in performing engineering activities on all the products of the Diagnostic Systems Business Unit within but Application and Development projects, providing technical support to all the stakeholders in relation to all the engineering aspects of the product, like technical advisory and operative activities. The candidate shall work within a System Engineering Team reporting to the System Engineering Team Leader and be allocated to specific Product or Application Teams according to the workplan.

 

Engineering Activities:

· Calibration & Tuning

· Data Analysis

· Investigation and Problem Solving

· Technical Advisory

· Electrical measurements

· Mechanical measurements

· Systems operating

 

Software activities:

· OS installation and configuration

· Network configuration and diagnostic

· Software installation and configuration

· Standard OS maintenance activities

 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/TECHNICAL SKILLS

The ideal candidate has an electronic or computer science engineering background, with at least two years of working experience in electronic, automotive, railway or oil & gas industry, good communication and autonomy skills, knowledge of English and Italian, availability to travel within the country and abroad. A preliminary training period of 2-4 months will take place before the start of the activities. The training (or part of it) could eventually take place at the parent company facility in Italy.
