If you share our determination to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking a coating engineer junior, reporting directly to Industrial Coatings & Insulation section head to join our engineering division team based in Rome, Italy.

About the Job

You will work inside the Industrial Coatings & Insulation section that is in charge of the development of all the project specifications for protective coatings, thermal and acoustic insulation, fireproofing and refractory linings. You will act as focal point for all the above-mentioned disciplines.

Key interactions of the Coating Engineer are internally with Project teams, Process, Procurement, Construction and others engineering disciplines; externally with Clients, Vendors, Suppliers.

The role and your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • ensure timely and qualitative preparation of project technical specifications in coordination with other disciplines;
  • elaborate insulation and painting summaries for both piping and equipment;
  • issue all the technical documentation and price schedule for insulation, painting, fireproofing and refractory lining subcontracts;
  • analyze offers from subcontractors, perform the technical Bid Tabulation (including technical clarifications and deviations);
  • review all the Vendors’ documentation;
  • adhere to the committed man / hours and budget;
  • meet quality and HSE objectives of the project;
  • interface with other discipline specialist engineers and project support functions such as procurement and planning.

 You will have the opportunity to do business trips to attend to technical meetings with Clients or Suppliers, move to other Technip Energies operating centers and join our colleagues overseas. Occasionally you will also have the opportunity to follow up engineering activities related to protective coatings, insulation, fireproofing and refractory linings directly on our sites, supporting the erection activities.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements:

  • Qualifications: Chemical/ Mechanical/ Materials Engineering Master Degree
  • Professional experience: from 0 to 3 years, preferably as coating engineer
  • Languages: English fluent
  • Main Skills:
  • attitude to perform the work in team, in an international and multi-cultural environment
  • capability to complete tasks on time with the required Company quality level
  • open-mind with respect to new energy sources and digital solutions
  • availability to international mobility for either short or long term assignment
  • knowledge of new energy sources, renewables, green/blue hydrogen technologies as well as new digital tools and solutions will be appreciated
  • nice to have an advanced knowledge of the full Microsoft Office Package
